I think it all comes down to communication. If your work communicates a feeling or an emotion, then that is what it's all about. That makes your work stand out. That makes you an artist.

i answered all of the above BUT there are others:
passion/emotion, imagination and of course what makes u a good artist is being crazy(, in a way)...( i mean most artists i know are crazy in a sense, look at Da Vinci...)

Well abit of everything you mentioned i'd say. I think what makes a bad artist is lazyness (although everones guilty of that from time to time, dishonesty (about their sources and inspiration), repetition and not challenging yourself.

I don't say what I think makes myself a good artist -- I listen to what other people say. Many believe I had a good eye; good angles, good colors, unique subjects.

Well, not entirely. I just don't want to say "hey, I have great skillz in everything!" when I should be hearing what some people say. I'm not going to listen to everyone. Or everyone for everything
