I honestly think the next WWIII will be everyone against the United States. I love this country but I don't condone what were doing around the world. We're no longer in the Transatlantic Union, we were the only nation to not be in the ICC, and we rationalized invading Iraq on the pretense of throwing out an evil dictator but we won't go into Darfur and we did nothing in Rwanda. We need cooperative leaders who want justice and democracy more than a couple of greenbacks. We need a Bullworth.
I have no clue when it's going to start, (probably not very soon because most of the wars right now other than the war in Iraq with the involvement of the US, are more religious than anything else) but i've got my money on Israel. They have the best Air Force in the world. And they'll kick all of our asses.
P.S. The United States is not to blame for what goes on in the Middle East. Dumbass. Most of what goes on in the Middle East has been going on for 2000 years. Since before the birth of the United States. And it's mostly because there are radicals that believe their religious books are telling them to kill everyone that isn't their religion. It's not even the people's fault. There are millions of innocent people over there caught in a religous war brought about by a few tyrants that have drilled this destruction into a bunch of idiots and now they have to spread that death and destruction all over the flipping planet.
Most religious books are very peaceful books. Leave it to the radicals to screw it all up. Crazy asses.
And now the US will go in and stop it. As usual. And gas will keep rising. And taxes will go up. And welfare-ees will still get free groceries. I want free groceries. Dang.
I wouldn't say the majority, per se, but I can think of quite a few... like how we're fighting and killing many people in the Middle East for money is one of the main reasons. We attacked Iraq, a place where there were few terrorists, and the two places we should've gone if we'd invaded -- Syria and Saudi Arabia -- we didn't, because we get too much money from them. We sold Pakistan, a country fighting with India, nuclear weapons as long as they promised not to use them against India. >.> So, now that we've been fighting pointless wars for years now, we don't have enough troops. So we won't be prepared if North Korea attacks, and we wouldn't be prepared to assist Israel or Lebanon if the fighting escalated badly.
... I may be mistaken about some of this, though. I stopped following the new closely a while ago.
Hm, well if by world conflict you mean something like WW3, then i don't see it any time soon. Maybe in 50 or 100 years from now (when, on the other hand, i won't even care about wars and such) if the world will look completely different (politically speaking).
Today there are no two sides for a global conflict. I mean we don't have a bipolar world setup like during WW1, WW2 or The Cold War ("world wars are like so last year" ).Also there are no big oposing alliances like in the past. No one can stand up to the US: France&Germany (and the rest of the EU) are all talk, Russia isn't what it once was, and countries like Iran, Siria etc will share the fate of Irak if Bush decides he "don't like them arabs". But, on the other hand, the Irak invasion/liberation (which either one you like) was really expensive so i don;t see the boys in blue going to war in the near future.
Local wars like Israel-Lebanon (actually Hezbollah - if that;s how it's spelled) will happen in the future like they always have.
the next world conflit will be in about 2 seconds. and the next 2 seconds, and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next andthenextandthenextandthenextandhtenext andhtenextandthenext andthenextandthenext.
and i keep hoping that the next will be the end of mother earth's suffering. the trees should eat us.
People are rather pessimist. When you say WORLD CONFLICT, I anticipate WWIII. In which case not for another hundred years, after the degradation of many governments, because world leaders are smart/self-interested enough to not get into wars they have no business in.
They much rather profit off the backs of both warring countries.
:/ There has been a lot of mounting tension lately. And that is just pretty sad. Nobody wants to give in. Right now there are a lot of conflicts in a lot of areas of the world (uh did we forget about Darfur already...), and with the Israeli-Lebanon conflict/war-thing, I think more people are realising that the world is going crazier every minute. I mean, every time you open up a newspaper, there's war staring right at you in the face. The tough job of a leader is choosing between staying out of it or going in to help solve it--you get criticised either way. On one hand, you can let it go and hope the problem resolves itself internally, and people say you are completely insensitive to other countries' problems. On the other hand, you butt in, people say you stick your heads in too many places, and you risk a global war. ):
I wonder what would happen if every country decided to go on an isolationist policy. Maybe just for a while...
i see most people are convinced that it'll be in a year or less.. and i am too. then it depends on what people mean by WORLD conflict... i seriously don't understand why so many people listen to the assholes in charge!!
It's not that, i just think that if Iran get's involved ( apart from the fact that they have nuclear weapons wich i don't think they're stupid to use) then usa will get involved. After that who knows what else would happen. But personally i think this conflict is gonna end soon, at least for now... i don't think it's time yet.
Well in the present world, majority of the nations are either under developed or developing, and most of asia pacific and eurasia, is still trying to catch up with the rest of the world.Expecting them to join in the fracas, is impossible.
More ever, considering the fact that, govts. are aiming for NPT..is against wars. Then again it, would be utter stupidity, to destroy the "hard work" that that major powers have done to achieve peace.
